Mental Health & Psychiatry Services
From initial evaluation to ongoing care, treatment should be guided by your individual needs.
Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. Symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, life circumstances, previous treatment experiences, and personal goals can differ from one person to another. Insight Choices offers psychiatry, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, and telepsychiatry for patients in California. Our clinicians use individualized assessment and shared decision-making to discuss an appropriate path forward.
Our Services
Psychiatry
Comprehensive psychiatric care for mental health concerns, from evaluation through ongoing follow-up. Clinicians review symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, current medications, daily functioning, and treatment goals before discussing diagnosis and care options. Depending on individual needs, care may include medication, psychotherapy, or other appropriate treatments.
Psychiatric Evaluation
A psychiatric evaluation can be an important first step if you are seeking help for the first time, your symptoms have changed, or you are unsure which type of care may be appropriate. The evaluation may include current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, sleep, medications, substance use, stressors, and daily functioning. Medication or other treatment is recommended only when clinically appropriate.
Medication Management
When medication is clinically appropriate, prescribing clinicians discuss potential benefits, risks, common side effects, and how to use the medication safely. Follow-up visits help monitor symptom response, tolerability, and safety, with adjustments made when appropriate. Do not stop or change a prescribed medication without guidance from your health care provider.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, also called talk therapy, is provided by qualified mental health professionals to help patients understand and work with patterns that affect emotions, thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and daily functioning. The type, goals, and frequency of therapy depend on individual needs and clinical assessment and may be combined with other treatments when appropriate.
TMS Therapy
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive brain stimulation treatment that uses magnetic pulses to target specific areas of the brain. Eligibility depends on diagnosis, previous treatment response, current symptoms, and safety factors, including certain implanted metal or medical devices. A clinical and safety screening is required before treatment.
Online Psychiatry / Telepsychiatry
Eligible patients in California can access certain psychiatric and mental health services by video visit, including evaluation, follow-up, and medication management when appropriate. Telehealth availability depends on the patient’s location, clinician licensure, clinical needs, and safety considerations. In-person care, testing, or referral may be recommended when needed.
Not Sure Where to Start?
If you do not yet have a clear diagnosis or are unsure whether medication, psychotherapy, TMS, or another form of care may be appropriate, a psychiatric evaluation can be a helpful place to begin. A clinician can review your symptoms, history, and current needs and discuss appropriate next steps with you.
